Which is to say when I get tired of writing, I feel like maybe I should make a podcast or vodcast for the blog instead. But then it feels like I’m trying to pretend I’m a 17-year-old YouTube star. Maybe I should just hire a transcriptionist? Seriously considering using the phrase “retiring my hands” the next time someone emails me.
I’m still in craziness mode, but I found the blog Corporette and absolutely loved the idea (Fashion and lifestyle for overachieving white collar women in law, business, etc). The execution is a little off — I was definitely expecting an elegant website and the one they have is a little dated and text-y — but they’re making it work and they’ve been around since 2008, so I guess they know what they’re doing!
I did a little business planning today and I’ll do more next week when I meet with my business coach. For about 12 minutes I was jazzed about writing again… until the sheer weight of creating and running a new site landed on my shoulders again.
Things get weird when you graduate from “Ah, laid off! Gotta make a paycheck!” to “Time to make strategic, long-term business decisions.” I feel a little like Dave Ramsey as he removes himself from his business (except of course he has a few more zeroes at the end of his checks).
Note: Avoid Googling stuff about Dave Ramsey if you can. Apparently it’s a 50-50 split of Dave PR and anti-Dave whining. Note: Oh my gosh, how did I miss Jon Acuff resigning from the Dave Ramsey team in 2013? Craziness! And then how did I miss this amazing comment about it:
And as a side-note, I am now incredibly eager to get out of debt and buy a freaking Macbook. I had half a post here but the Chromebook became suddenly overwhelmed by having 5 browsers opened so it shut them all down. THANKS SO MUCH. Props to WordPress for saving the draft automatically so that I don’t need to painfully rewrite a few hundred words in my desperation to reconnect with the blog world.
Ready for a slick transition?
Impromptu Poll: How did you find the blog? Why do you still read?
I’m sorting out the future of what’s happening with LCE and frankly I’m not sure what I offer the world. That leads to a lot of silence because, “What I want to write about” is often vague and unhelpful. So. This is where you come in… if you’re reading I’d really appreciate your thoughts!
