To be honest, when I made the switch from program and content management at a government contracting company to content and new media, a tiny part of me was worried that working in my actual dream field wouldn’t be all I thought it’d be.
And even more worrisome that the workload of blogging (which was already heavy when I blogged for fun) would be way too much to do as a professional.
But here I am guys, a month in, and I think I have lucked out with the second “One” of my life (JHubbs being the first).
Apparently I get energized by writing about four or five different topics (in four or five different voices) in a given day.
And loading up 100s of tweets and facebook posts? Beyond exciting. And the data is letting me know I’m good at it.
Evaluating websites and graphics for modifications and improvements? (And heck, designing some flyers and worksheets myself?). Fan. Freaking. Tastic.
I have found in the past that you only get two of the three important things in life to work out at any given time: love, work, or health. While I feel fine right now, I wonder if I should start worrying about about my health…
How do you deal with new-job expectations? Are they usually surpassed them or do they fall short?
