Welcome to Freelance Friday! Each Friday, I’ll share something Freelance-y that I learned during the week that will help other freelancers or entertain cubicle-queens. Thanks for reading, and Happy 4th of July! I hope you get to see some fireworks somewhere, as we’re on the road for a Joshua Wake show.
At the risk of not being very helpful, why not take a look at how this freelancer enjoys the much-coveted “flexible work schedule” lunch!
Now more often than not, I work through lunch. Once I get going (or once I get to the library around 9am) I tend to get on a roll and I don’t want to stop until everythings completely done.
That said, sometimes I just need a break during a particularly long day! So I close all my programs, clip the laptop shut, and waddle over to the couch for some TV (Fraiser, Futurama, or Portlandia) for a two-episode lunch.
Lunch usually looks like a fresh salad with veggies and a leftover meat: baked chicken, london broil, or ground meat. And I finish up with something sweet, whether that’s juice and spritzer or a banana and a handful of chocolate chips (not quite Paleo AIP, but safe enough for me).
Now that Josh is home for lunch, too, the schedule isn’t as consistent or relaxing. Managing employees is definitely not as simple as I thought it’d be!
