True Worth’s The Problem with the Bikini Debate puts into words some nice things for teen girls. Like how wearing a bikini doesn’t make you good or bad — but how do other people interpret it? I am not sure where I stand on this sort of thing. I do miss modesty… but is the beach a place to be modest? But is it too much to ask to go to the beach and not see, you know, male and female junk hanging out? Your thoughts?
Alexis Grant’s “The Big Mistake You’re Making When You Ask for Advice” is such good advice for anyone who has a lot of questions. And chances are if you are interested in something you are not doing, you have a lot of questions.
Here is Below Her Mean’s “Twenty Things About Me”. I love these kinds of posts! Not only do you get to know more information about a given blogger, but you can usually see the blogger’s natural voice come out in the unedited transitions between numbers. Love it.
Adulting’s “Addendum to Step 228: Your Stress is not a Real thing to Anyone But You” is very helpful, especially if you work with a lot of women (I’m not sure I could tell a bunch of dudes “I’m really stressed, please ignore me” without assuming they don’t care or don’t notice). I know that might seem pretty sexist, but working in a company made up of, say, 95% women, I can tell you right now that it matters.
“The Girl Someone Should Write a Book About” from Kate at Eat the Damn Cake is just lovely. Instead of writing about how we wished we looked (heroines with perfect noses, etc), write about the odd beauty that is real and around us. It’s funny that most girls have a particular body part they lust after in other women — as for me, I’ve never had a problem with my nose, so I rarely notice it on others.
