My only failing as a small business yet is that I’ve more or less completely stopped reading my feed of favorite blog posts, websites, and web-friends. This shall not continue, because these are the very sites that got me started on my path to self-employment.
I’m leaning towards “shutting down” once a month to have a “Reading Day,” like I did in school. In fact, if I ever get employees, maybe that goes on my list of things I want to do. Best practices, right?
Here are a few pickings from things I’ve made time for and that have rocked my world:
Penelope Trunk is still kicking it, with posts like “Do you have the guts to live a life that sings?,” and “4 Transformative ways to make more money”.
Ash at TMF Project writes the only business blog you really need to be reading (and their copywriting & design course, Brandgasm, is the best investment I’ve made into my business yet). “How to get out of a rut (with wine)” and “Don’t follow others, follow through with yourself” are perfect examples of their consistent, hard-hitting awesomeness.
