So, last night JHubbs “took me out to a date” to a neat firetruck bar nearby.
(Quotation marks courtesy of combined finances, haha).
Two $8 cocktails and a $9 plate of nachos later, my mind was on fire with the possibilities if we had a) saved that amount (haha, ok, or, more realistically:), b) invested that $30 in delicious groceries.
We could have bought an entire bottle of liquor (how many cocktails in there??) and made a gorgeous steak at home for the same price, if not less if I was tricky about it.
But on the other hand, JHubbs really enjoyed himself!
So, fellow peeps, where do you draw the line between getting the bang for your buck (if youre a good cook at home) and gaining experiences through outings, even if at a personal financial loss?
I would almost always rather stay home, but it seems pretty stringent to avoid the outdoors because of the mark up.
What are your thoughts? Do you always go out, no matter the price, or are there other homebodies out there…
