So, this is going to sound crazy, but I swear that when I eat cheese, my knees ache. When I stop eating cheese, it stops.
This has been going on for about two weeks.
Scientists and doctors may laugh. My physical therapist friend might roll his eyes. But that’s what’s going on with me!
After a two or three week long dairy and corn bender (cheese samples at Whole Foods, cream in my coffee, popcorn and kettle corn galore) I hit an awful wall. I recommitted to Paleo AIP last weekend.
Because that’s just life with AIP. You try, you fail, you recommit. You keep reminding yourself of why it’s important to eat cleanly, and you try to reinvent your surroundings to make it easier to do so. You eat something on the “avoid” list, you get a stomach ache, and you remember not to eat it again.
And trying to do this around the holidays? It suuuuucks.
Running errands means packing snacks (because there’s very little around town I can eat). Waking up in the morning and smelling JHubb’s fresh brewed coffee suuuuuuucks. Indulging in a Earl Grey black tea (not decaf), and not being able to fall asleep for three hours… suuuucks.
