-Annie Dillard, American Childhood
Most of my favorite books became my favorite because they found a way to make me feel like I was on the right track. Especially Annie Dillard. With this passage, it felt like I was meeting someone who had the same weird thoughts and realizations that I had had, such as suddenly meeting yourself over and over again. Those times you realize that there is a you, and then a you that thinks things about you, and then a you that monitors what others think about both of those yous that you know.
