Home Office Must-Haves

01.10.2013 by Sarah // 1 Comment

I am blessed to get to work virtually two days per week at my current job. I also spend an easy 10-20 hours per week freelancing in my own time. That translates into a lot of computer time and a lot of possible distractions. I stay on top of all of my responsibilities by using awesome things in my home office. Here are my favorites:

Home Office Must-Haves

Logitech Wireless Trackball – My dad has been a computer engineer for 15+ years and got me onto trackball mouses early. Especially when deskspace is not easy to come by (or perhaps you are reclined on the couch, freelancing through your second or third episode of How I Met Your Mother) it is nice to not need to move your hand all around to get your work done. I use one in the office and in the home office.

Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 800 – The keys are nice and smooth and this price cannot be beat. Literally. This is another item I use in the office and in the home office.

Lysol wipes – Wipe down the keyboard, mouse, and computer screen once per week, as well as to keep the desk area nice and clean.

Cork or Whiteboard Bulletin Board – This is great for pinning up paper while you read it and type, or just for general reminders or inspiration pieces (maybe something gorgeous by Lisa Congdon?).

NeuYear 2013 Wall Calendar – I know this was already a sponsored post, but I am giving them another shout out just because I am in love. I have almost six months of my blog scheduling up and visible simply by having this gorgeous long-term poster up.

Epson Workforce 630 – I have had this printer for almost a year now and I am very pleased with the print quality, ink consumption, and fax. I also use 123Inkjets to get super-cheap ink and it has worked very well for me.

Adjustable Desk Lamp – We have a lamp similar to this one in a brushed silver coating. It’s very nice to have the adjustable neck and I love the industrial look of it.

What are your must-haves for freelancing or working virtually?

Hmm, my must-haves? Comfortable headphones and good speakers (music to motivate). I also need a stash of non-fattening snacks if I am going to munch…so I keep a supply of things like carrot sticks close by (and the bad stuff far off).

Faith, Food, & Motherhood

I’m Sarah, wife to JHubbs, momma to Lbubs and Bdubbs (not the chicken wing restaurant).

In the past five years, I’ve built a business, had a baby, and embraced whole foods living. (I’ll let you decide which was harder.)

We eat way too much Kerrygold’s and spend most of our energy trying to figure out what’s for dinner. The days pass too fast.
